Matthew 9:37-38

Meyer Family News

 Dear Friends,

As you may already know, we have sensed God calling us back into missions for several years now. As we have sought Him in regards to this, we believe He wants us to serve Him with Operation Mobilization (OM) for the next two years in Belgium. Although moving cross-continentally with a family to a country of foreign culture and language (for Grace and the kids) is quite daunting, we rest assured that we will be in the center of His will.

Our Journey
As we prayed about possibly going to Belgium for 2 years, things started pointing in that direction. Given my background (Jonathan) as a Belgian Missionary Kid, Belgium was the logical place to go but I had my share of reservations on whether God really wanted us to serve Him there. The majority of Belgians are ignorant about or indifferent towards God; why would we commit our time and energy over there, when there are other places in the world where there is more receptiveness towards the Gospel?
I was reading through the prophets at the time and there is nothing like The Living Word jumping off the page and grabbing a hold of a person! That’s what happened to me as I read Ezekiel’s calling… God said: “You are not being sent to a people of obscure speech and difficult language…” (ch.3 vs.5) “Go now to your countrymen and speak to them… whether they listen or fail to listen.” (ch. 3 vs.11) It finally dawned on me that for the most part, God’s message through the prophets rarely landed on receptive hearts. Yet that is where God sent them.
Our Service
The evangelical church in Belgium is small and only makes up about 1% of the population. OM Belgium’s role is to come along side the local church and help them fulfill their purpose in Belgium and beyond. They strive to strengthen, equip and unite the Belgian church, motivating it to actively reach out to the community.  OM Belgium also has a conference center that is not only used by OM, but also by a local church and several Christian organizations for meetings, training & equipping, as well as for worship.
I (Jonathan) have been asked to serve as Conference Manager, keeping up with reservations and making sure guests are well taken care of. Facility maintenance would also be part of my role.
I, Grace, would primarily take care of our two little girls. Learning the Dutch language and church involvement will probably be the next two time consumers.

Our Needs ~ Your Investment Opportunity!
OM International is one of the largest inter-denominational mission agencies with over 5400 people working in about 110 countries committed to world evangelization. This ministry is supported by the faithful financial gifts & prayers of interested friends and churches. The cost of living in Belgium for our family is about $5000 per month. Please pray with us for this need and ask God if He would have you become a ministry partner with us and in so doing, invest in His Kingdom!
Note: In order for financial gifts to be tax-deductable, checks should be made out to OM and sent to OM USA: P.O. Box 444 Tyrone, GA 30290. Put our name and account # 2167895 in the memo or donate online @ https://usa.om.org/GiveOnline

Please let us know how you are doing and how we can help and pray for you! Being ministry partners goes both ways!!!
